Job Title: Accounting Manager
Department: Accounting
Reports To: CFO
Summary -
Accounting Manager:
Manages the daily activities of the accounting
department, including A/P, A/R and P/R, and administration of benefits and 401K
Plan. Prepare weekly P/R and related taxes. Prepare state and local tax
returns. Monthly and yearly closings, and reconciles G/L accounts. Assists
the CFO in financial statement preparation and analysis. The position requires
knowledge and utilization of a fully integrated ERP system.
Responsibilities centered on ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of accounting
transactions and adding financial analysis and expertise to the decision making
at all levels of the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Provide day-to-day financial/accounting support
for the company.
Hands on management of the accounts receivable,
accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
Ensure accuracy of monthly financials; work
through month-end closing.
Provide information to executives on
finance/accounting related issues.
Assure that financial and internal controls are
in place and functioning, which will provide assurances that financial records
are accurate and reliable.
Assist with external audits and act as liaison
with external auditors and consultants.
Prepare any required schedules and mid and
year-end working papers & financial statements.
Assist CFO to prepare financial statements,
operating budgets, forecasts, and cash management reports.
Taxation reporting as required by regulatory
agencies.
Remain current on updates relating to regulated
industry trends and analysis
Participate in cross-functional teams for
continuous company improvement, problem-solving and process analysis.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager directly manages personnel
in the General Accounting Department and has the responsibility to evaluate
performance and determine training requirements to assure the highest level of
skill necessary to meet company objectives.
Additional responsibilities include planning,
assigning and directing work, and appraising performance.

internal customers as well as external auditors, banking officers, industry
representatives, service providers and vendors.

in an organization.
Must possess excellent analytical skills. Must be
able to read, analyze and interpret complex numerical data, as well as legal
documents, federal and state regulations and industry documents.
Work closely with executive management to relate
financial information regarding operational activities.
Education and/or Experience
BA in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
Strong
experience with direct supervision of Accounting Department operations,
month-end closing, annual reporting and all statutory reporting requirements.
Manufacturing industry experience a plus.
